Seems to me that religion not only in America but in the world has evolved into religion based in arrogance and not in faith. Rather than rejoice in our commonalities (is this a word?) we go to war over our differences. Though I guess from a global and historical perspective it has hardly evolved into this, but is more cyclical in nature.
Though he isn't my favorite philosopher (Homer Simpson holds that honor!) there was something to Rodney King's cry of "can't we all just get along?". Or in my opinion at least put an end to the wars?

Okay, I sorta followed that. I think I'll stick to following Jesus.

I like your "currently reading" section. I just finished Brennan Manning's "The Furious Longing of God." A+ I'm onto Dino Rizzo's "Servolution," which means a lot to me since I attended his church while I lived in Baton Rouge.

Blessings,
